Privacy and cookies policy
Last updated: 31 October 2026
This policy explains how Changing Residence handles information collected through this website and enquiries about our property services. It covers the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and cookie choices under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
Who to contact
Changing Residence is responsible for the personal information it receives through enquiries. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, email enquiries@changingresidence.co.uk.
Information we collect
If you contact us, you may provide your first name, surname, phone number, email address, details of your property and the services you require. Please do not include sensitive personal information or unnecessary details about tenants in an initial enquiry.
When you submit the contact form, your details and message are processed by this website and sent to our contact mailbox using Resend. Resend and our email provider process the message to deliver and manage your enquiry. We do not keep a separate website enquiry database; your enquiry is retained in email and associated provider delivery records.
Our website hosting provider may process technical information, such as IP addresses, browser details, requested pages and security logs, to deliver and protect the site.
How and why we use information
- To respond to enquiries and take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To provide agreed services and administer our relationship with you, where necessary to perform a contract.
- To protect the website and manage correspondence, based on legitimate interests balanced against your rights.
- To meet applicable legal obligations.
- For any optional cookie use, only with your consent. You may withdraw it at any time.
Sharing and keeping information
Information may be processed by hosting, email and professional service providers where needed to operate the website, manage correspondence or comply with law. We do not sell enquiry information. If a provider processes information outside the UK, applicable transfer safeguards are required where the law requires them.
We keep enquiry information only as long as needed to handle your request and any resulting relationship, or to meet legal requirements. Retention depends on the purpose and applicable obligations. You can contact us for details about the information held about you.
Cookies and browser storage
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Similar technologies, including local storage, can also remember information. The consent controls on this website use local storage rather than a cookie.
| Name / category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| changing-residence-consent (essential local storage) | Stores consent version, choices and time of choice on your device. | Valid for 180 days; replaced when you change your choice. An expired record may remain until replaced or cleared. |
| Analytics | Not currently used. | None |
| Marketing | Not currently used. | None |
Optional categories default to off. Accept all allows both optional categories; Reject optional keeps both off. No optional trackers are installed by these controls. If optional technologies are introduced, this policy and consent configuration must be updated before they are used.
Change your choices using the button below. To withdraw optional consent, choose Reject optional. You can also clear site data in your browser; the banner will then appear again. After 180 days, or a consent version change, we ask for a new choice.
Your privacy rights
Subject to applicable conditions and exemptions, you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw consent without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. We may need to verify your identity and normally respond within one month; lawful extensions may apply.
If you are concerned about how your information is handled, please contact us. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Security and policy changes
We aim to protect personal information with appropriate safeguards. No website or email transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Links to other sites are covered by those sites’ own policies. We may update this policy as our services or legal requirements change; the date above shows the latest revision.
